Symptoms of Anxiety and Panic Attack Disorders

Anxiety and panic attack disorders are increasingly common with panic attacks being twice as prevalent in women as men. They often occur in social situations that could potentially cause embarrassment in some way or are extremely overwhelming to the sufferer. Panic attacks can cause heartbeat rates to increase, paralyzing terror, palpitations, dizziness, loss of breath, chest pain and a fear of madness or death. There are a huge amount of scary symptoms of both anxiety and panic attack disorders and they all cause to hasten to the fear of a situation.

Anxiety is a fearful reaction to stress and is a normal part of our lives until it becomes excessive and turns into a disabling disorder. The fear tends to expand and grow and what started as a normal amount of anxiousness becomes a disease which halts sufferer's social and working lives. It can cause feelings of dread, sickness and overpowering terror. It is not a healthy experience for anyone and those who suffer from extreme cases of anxiety and panic attack disorders are often afraid to leave their home progressing to agoraphobia in order for theses people to feel in any way safe or secure.

Fighting Against Anxiety and Panic Disorders

The battle against anxiety and panic disorders can be long, difficult and scary as deep rooted fears need to be accepted and overcome and the relating stress needs to be eased in some way. The most popular treatments are therapy and medications but a growing number of people are turning to holistic methods of fighting against anxiety and panic disorders. It can be accomplished but unfortunately many people are too scared to seek help for a number of reasons including the lack of knowledge that they are suffering from a treatable disease. All too often sufferers of anxiety and panic disorders are convinced that are simply mad and try to hide themselves from the rest of the world.

These disorders and symptoms are treatable with the right medication in most cases. Psychological treatment may be enough for some but for others they do not feel secure unless they feel that they are taking medicine which is actively fighting the disorder. This in itself is a major problem. Once a person has received treatment they may have temporary relapses if they let fear grip them once more but with support from others they can conquer anxiety and panic disorders for good.
